The major events of 2008 in China

Today is the first day of 2008, the rat years. Here are some major events will be happened in 2008, and these are my expectations.

 The major events of 2008 in China

The culture's events in January 2008:

  • Broadway Musical Cats to Embark in Beijing;
  • "National Treasure: The Book of Secrets" to Embark in Beijing too;

The business' events in February 2008:

  • The ".asia" domain name will then open to the general public in February 2008;
  • Chinese Spring Festival - The Lunar New Year's Day for 2008 falls on 7th of February;

The major events in March 2008:

  • China to elect new State leaders in March 2008;
  • The Olympic Flame will arrive in Beijing on March 31;

The subway's events in May 2008:

  • Beijing Railway will buy 84 new subway trains and update 60 old ones;

The subway's events in June 2008:

  • No.10 Beijing subway will be opened;

The sport's events in August 2008:

  • 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics will be held;

The science's events in September 2008:

  • The astronauts of Shenzhou VII will step out of the module for a space walk;

hey the rat year comes only during Chinese New Year (7/2/2008)… it doesn’t come with 1/1.

Wow, you are in beijing ? I wish to go there soon. Then, I want to take the train to Tibet. But, I heard this year Beijing will be too crowded with tourist because of the olympic game. Then, everything will be so expensive..

This year 2008 - China got many events to do… Olympics will help China alot…. even drive some traffics to your blog?
Also, This year = rat year…. I feel myself getting older as the RAT ranked No1 among others Chinese zodiac

China has developed at an incredible rate and 2008 really is a milestone for this great nation. A colleague of ours just recently arrived back from a business trip there and he was very impressed.
