The first day without cigarettes

This entry was posted on Wednesday, December 19th, 2007.

I had my first cigarette when I was 13 and started smoking when I was 14. When I first stated smoking I never pictured myself being a "smoker" for the rest of my life. But thats the thing about being young and stupid, you don't think about the future or the consequences of your actions.

I finally decided that I needed to quit when I turned 22 and realized I had been smoking for 9 years. Quit smoking really difficult for me, I always used the excuse, "I am young and I have plenty of time to quit". But I knew that if I didn't quit smoking now, another nine years would go by, and another, and another…

Perfect Smoking Pipes

Two days ago, a lesson from Ygmroz, she said I can write another way, start my life giving up smoking and drinking.

I hesitated for a long time, I think I absolutely won't regret it, it is hard but stick with it and I will thank myself in the end. So, I decided to give up smoking… again. Again? Yeah, it is not the first time quit smoking for me, I'm hopeful of succeeding in the attempt.

Today is the first day without cigarettes, I have drink four cups of tea, two cups of coffee, and a bottle of Coke since this morning, it feels so bad to quit smoking :(

Oh my, u start to smoke at 14? Please you must make sure you quit now cos it is so bad for your health. Won’t you scared that you get lung cancer? I hope you can quit smoking. If you have the determination to quit you will make it.

To quit one thing, means you have to find a replacement–i.e. your coffee, coke and other things. Sometimes, it may be wise to find a beneficial replacement as coke and coffee can still stain your teeth–you could try girls–they’re the most addicting thing in the world, though they can be dangerous and expensive…just start to go exercising often is probably the best idea.

Cheers

Keep it up. I hear it’s a long road to quitting for good, but don’t give up. Think about the people around you who love you and don’t want to see you get cancer, emphysema or some other nasty disease.

So many Chinese people smoke so I’m glad that you’ve quit. We always ask our friends in China to quit, hahahahha
