Taskbar on Right Side of Screen

This entry was posted on Sunday, August 19th, 2007.

I will sharing a tip with you, it's about the location of the windows' taskbar.

Commonly, the taskbar of windows is on the screen below, as like as the the first picture, the style is not very good: first, you cannot see the whole text of every bars, the second, it only can including about 12 bars.

The Taskbar will migrate to any one of the four sides of your computer screen (top, bottom, right, left). Personally, I keep mine at the right side of the screen instead of the bottom because it is easier to keep track of all the windows that I have opened at any moment (the buttons get too small if I leave it at the bottom.

So I drug it to the right side of the screen as like as the second picture, you will discovering that there are 18 bars in the taskbar and can be readed more text of everyone.

Put the taskbar on the right side is more better than below, more buttons in it, integrity datetime display, and less rolling in web browers.

How to drug it the the right? To move it, all you need to do is:

  1. Move the cursor over it
  2. Grab it (press & hold the left mouse button)
  3. Drag it to whichever side you want it
  4. Drop it (release mouse button)

Then, you can change the width of the Taskbar by moving the cursor to its "inner edge" and then dragging the edge in or out.

I like the style tips, and also hope it useful for you. And I will show another tips about two-screen in some days later, if you are interesting about it, please subscribing the RSS feed of this blog, it can help you get the news about this blog.

Hello,

I have had the same for ages. The width of my taskbar is the same as yours. Nevertheless, I have to customize it every day because whenever I log in, the taskbar shrinks to about one half of the desired width. So I have to unlock, enlarge and lock again. Would be great if the system remembered my preferred settings. Do you know how to do it?

Hi,

If you find a solution, could you please drop me an e-mail? There seems to be no RSS specifically for the comment section of this article and I am afraid I might forget to check back. :)
