What is the price of a CN domain name? 6.99 dollars? 2.99 dollars? 1 dollars? No, the answer is 14 cents per CN domain name.

China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), the country’s domain name administrator, announced that the first-year registration fee for CN domain names will be one yuan.

One yuan means 1.00RMB. One dollar equals 7.3452RMB these days, so you can register 7 CN domain names in one dollar. I think it is not a good news. Because the cheapper, the more spam websites are created.

At the end of 2006, China had 1.8 million websites that ended in “.CN”, up 64.4 percent from the year previous. The “.CN” suffix is Asia’s largest and the world’s fourth-largest, statistics from the CNNIC show.

The 1 yuan sale promotion plan continues, and the spam websites that ended in “.CN” are produced too, when is the crazy plan going to stop and do an honest work?

It is true that more spam websites will be created if .cn extension is being sold for such a low prices. even then so many good keywords of .cn extension is for sedo & afternic also. around 50 domains are sold at after market and the prices are moderate and not low. rugby.cn is sold for $25000 (private sale). already .cn was available for such low prices ~14 cents but we have to register around 1500 domains. if we register a single domain it costs 5.28 $ at that time. But now 7 domain names for one dollar is very nice.I think chinese want to establish over the world and suppress .com , Is it possible.Indirectly .com prices will shoot up at after market if a partcular keyword is registered in .cn extension.

Best Regards.
