Movie Review: The Forbidden Kingdom

This entry was posted on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008.

About 78 days ago, I said “I’m waitting for The Forbidden Kingdom, it must be a great movie I believe”. And today, I watched it in my computer.

Objectively speaking, the Forbidden Kingdom movie is not very good, it seems to me a low-cost film. There a lot of actions are wasteful of time, but lack of the film’s plot and the players’ character.

This movie fell flat on myself, I searched its reviews of others, it is generally believed that it is not as excellence as they hope.

The leading roles are Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Liu Yifei, Li Bingbing, Collin Chou and Michael Angarano.

Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Liu Yifei, Collin Chou, Li Bingbing are all Chinese, but the film producted for the Occidental people. So, the film are not an essential quality of the Chinese cultural of Tang dynasty.

If you has not wathch it yet, I suggest that you do not waste money on it.

True! I didn’t like the movie because there was no climax. It was so Westernized that the supposed-to-be Oriental theme was sacrificed. It lacked the spark to become a blockbuster.

All else apart…the kungfu scene is awesome…but it does get boring in the middle…I just love to see Jet Li and Jackie Chan together…

I think every bad movie is an opportunity for someone else to write a good book. :)
