I am not in the mood to continue

Who can tell me how to do? I am not in the mood to continue this blog. Yesterday is the one year birthday of this blog, I have blogging 365 days.

But, I noticed my domain will be expired next year, and more serious is I cannot renew this domain name :(

In 2006, I registered this domain by Yahoo, and bought the web hosting from Yahoo in 2007. Then, I found Yahoo’s Web Hosting always having problems, so I canceled its.

I joined hostmonster laster, and in my option, I canceled web host but I still owned my domain, is that the case? No, that’s not the case.

Yahoo canceled my domain, I can’t manage my domain in Yahoo, and can not get the authorization codes, and can not transfer the domain to the other places.

It means shangning.net will be expired next year, I don’t know how to do.

I asked Yahoo help center, they doesn’t answer me. I searched this problem in Google, found a lot of webmasters have the same question. They all believe Yahoo is the worst supplier of domain names.

So, how do you think about it? What can I do? I am really confused.

Not too sure.

But perhaps what I would do is buy a new domain now (from dotster.com for example) and move everything over to this domain. Once this new domain is up and running, point shangning.net to the new domain or just leave a page up saying you moved to such-and-such domain… that way you keep your loyal fans…

Hi,Shang Ning, I experienced the same with Yahoo…… if you press them hard enough, they’ll let you know that their domains are actually managed by an institution in Australia, you can renewal your domain from the Australian agency after you have left Yahoo.

It is better to buy domain from well known domain provider like GoDaddy.com or CheapNames.co.uk or better still, domain with your current hosting…you should do either after you follow Ping Sun idea…another suggestion, just buy other extension domain such as shangning.info or shangning.mobi and point it to your current hosting…hope it helps…

Write to ICANN Shang Ning! Tell them you can’t access your domain from Yahoo and that Yahoo not helping! ICANN is in charge of all domain registrars…and that includes YAHOO!

I am really in favor of yahoo web hosting . They provide some great features . I have tried another web hosting also . But personally yahoo web hosting works best for me . I have also created one lens on yahoo web hosting . Hey , by the way , nice blog my friend .

I don’t know anything about buying sites - I just do a personal blog in South Africa which is free - iblog - it was designed by a nice guy called Mark, in 2006. I love your site -it is extremely interesting, so I hope it doesn’t disappear!! Luckily, it seems you have received lots of good advice.
