del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website - the primary use of del.icio.us is to store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too. On del.icio.us, you can use tags to organize and remember your bookmarks, which is a much more flexible system than folders.

You can also use del.icio.us to drive more traffic to your blog, guys search the interesting links that you bookmark, and visit your blog. If they like your blog, they will bookmarking it too, and share your blog to their friends, more and more traffic you will get.

1. Import by batch

If you have used delicious, how do you bookmarking? The usual method is to submit URL directly, or install the plugin and submit URL in the button. These methods are too slow and trivial to save time. To make the most of import and export functions.

First, open your blog in IE or Firefox, clicking every posts of your blog and bookmarking them in IE or Firefox's Favourites folder. Then, export the Favourites folder to a file, the URLs are included in the file, login delicious and import the file to delicious, a few minutes later, all the URLs are stored in delicious.

If you are good at programmer, you can write a script to do this work without browsers, select items from database and write them to a bookmark format file. Then, import the file to delicious.

2. As much as possible

The more pages are stored, the more traffic you can get. If there are 100 posts in your blog, how many pages it is? The answer is more than 100 (categoriey pages, archive pages). Don't just bookmark the posts's URL, the more the better.

3. Choose the better tags

Famous tags are not the best choice, there are a log of articles tagging in famous tags, so it may not be shown at the first page of famous tag long time. Find out the tags which subscribe by guys, tagging in these tags, then your bookmarks will appearing to other's subscriptions page.

4. Note every items

Write a short description for every items, the more attentional resources spent on the information, the more accurately the information will be interested. It is very trivial, but it is easy in a simply scripts. The description will be included in the export file.
