Firecracker is my greatest fear

This entry was posted on Monday, December 31st, 2007.

Firecrackers are commonly used in celebration of holidays or festivals, such as wedding dash, the celebration of Chinese New Year by Chinese communities around the world. It is believed that it will bring good fortune in the new year.

Firecrackers will explode once again in Beijing, yeah, tomorrow is the New Year, children like to shoot off firecrackers in the New Year. I agree that the firecrackers are very beautiful and gorgeous, but I don't like it, it is very noiseful.

 firecrackers from my window

In the spring festive period of 2006, US$124 million of fireworks and firecrackers were set off in mainland China. One can imagine, so many fireworks and firecrackers were set on fire, in other words, there were much nosie be generated in around you.

I can not concentrate on work, thinking, not even watching TV, it is really too noisy…

In fact, sell, possess, or use firecrackers were prohibited serval years ago in Beijing, but it was allowed again, because there are a lot of people like it.

If there are firecrackers that pretty, safe and no noise, it will be perfect!

haha. I’m not that fond of firecrackers either. I just love the pretty lights. I don’t like the ones that make so much noise. Our poor dogs were all scared last night. @_@

I too dislike firecracker, every year, we escape the town(shanghai)to oversee, for avoiding the unbearbal noise. if the craker is only for some time, it is ok, but not day and nights. I hear people complaining of not sleeping for 2 or 3 days, my parents couldn’t open the window for the air is all poluted, the air in china are polutated anyway, just now even worse. if it is during the day time should be ok, but people set up firework, during nights, or 4,5am in the morning. holiday are for people taking more rest, have peaceful time or do something while they can’ do or think, maybe some reflections… that during the working days, you are stressed with other problems, anyway, people are different, thank God, we have our choice for escaping, last year we were in Japan, very clean and quiet, this year, we went to Hongkong and Macau, surprisingly, there were absolutely no firecracker during the time we were there.
