Chook Croaked Mountain and Chook Croaked Post Station

These names were named by myself, their Chinese names are “JiMing Mountain” and “JiMingYi Post Station”, the means are “Chook Croaked Mountain” and “Chook Croaked Post Station”.

Chook Croaked Mountain is about 50km away from Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, The mountain elevation 1128.9 meters and area 17.5 square kilometers, historical records there are chook croaked at night in Tang Zhenguan years, so it was named “Chook Croaked Hill”.

There are 108 temples, but all of them at the top of the mountain, I did not climbed the toppest, so no photos about them. At the foot of the mountain, a village named Chook Croaked Post Station, it was a dak in ancient times, it serviced for ancient government.

This village is the biggest ancient dak in China today, it was approved by the State Council key national cultural protection units in 2001. It was built at Ming Yongle 18th years (1420), about 600 years from it created to today, now there is an attractions, many Chinese Film were shooted here. It also is one of the mouse famous postal stations in Chinese history,

The dak’s (Chook Croaked Post Station) history dates back to the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368). In 1219, Genghis Khan, the great leader of the Mongolians, implemented a post road and built a postal station midway between Beijing and the northern town of Xuanhua.

In 1913, after the Government of Beiyang repealed Chook Croaked Post Station and enabled a new postal system, the oldest postal station in China ended its historical role and became a memorable Chinese town.
