20 symbols from USA to China

I
read a Chinese article just now, it’s interesting, and it listed 39
symbols in China. I picked the most interesting 20 symbols from them
and translating them to English. I have never been to England or USA,
so I’m not sure whether the article fact.

1. Backpackers:
backpackers are famous in China, make a parade of backpackers’ travel,
but that’s a common method of common people in abroad, richer like
tourist party, that’s the opposite in China.

2. Bohemia: special
clothing as if mentally unbalanced, in China, the word special cool,
even a modern building be named Bohemia, it’s all past belief.

3.
Bordeaux: in abroad, only few people can taste this wine, most people
drink beer, but in China, the myriad people said they like Bordeaux.

4.
Broadway: the plot’s quite simple, elegantly and elaborately ornate, to
exaggerate and overdo, Broadway famous in New York and London, then
famous in the world. “common song” is same Broadway, and also famous in
China.

5. Chivas: old men like Chivas in abroad, but that’s young men’s favorite in China.

6. Christmas: that’s symbolizing love in abroad I think, that’s symbolizing an orgy of spending in China I believe.

VISA: Master and VISA are more and more important in China, even
Chinese are the highest interest of Credit Card in world (18% per year).

Evian: this is a water produce from France, it’s about 50 yuan (6.67
dollars) per bottle in China, how dear it is, but Chinese Offical Lady
like it very much, that’s only water I think.

9. Golf: it’s neither noble sport nor many-headed sport, it’s only a sport, but it’s symbolizing noble life in China.

10. Haagen-Dazs: that apparently a mass icecream in USA, few unique Haagen-Dazs goods store in USA, isn’t it?

11. IKEA:”cheap IKEA” also symbolizing noble life in China. “cheap IKEA” is really expensive furniture in China.

Paris: this word will be showed in many places, what is Paris meaning?
City, arts, style of life, or clothes? No, it means you will lost your
money.

13. Resort: “how expensively!” is the first feeling when
you enter resort, but I only want to feeling relax and comfortable, so
I never enter resort in China.

14. Skyscraper: there more and
more skyscraper in Beijing and Shanghai, abroad researcher has reported
that skyscraper is not economy.

15. Snooker: this is a sport for
gentry in English, player have to wearing a suit on playing. Who like
wearing a suit on a hot day? So you will seeing one was naked to the
waist and playing Snooker in China.

16. SPA: bathtub, music, flower in the water, that’s Chinese SPA.

17. SOHO: Small Office Home Office, like Bohemia, more and more business building were named SOHO.

18. Starbucks: one said Starbucks is snack like McDonald’s in abroad, but Starbucks is regard as the elegance bourgeois.

19.
Surburbs: living at surburbs have many advantages, fresh air, no crazy
music, etc. But in China, living at surburbs will be troubled by no
shop, no hospital, no bus.

20. Budweiser: Budweiser means worker in USA, Budweiser means University students in China.
